Darlene Nipper is an American lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights activist and the deputy executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force since 2008. She has previously worked for the city government of Washington, DC, the BET Foundation, the National Mental Health Association, and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - where she served as chief operating officer.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=Darlene Nipper )〕 She has been an "out and active lesbian who has been in a committed relationship (1996 )."〔 ==Personal== Nipper grew up in Washington, DC and was raised Catholic. She is a person of color who graduated from a historically black college. She became an ordained interfaith minister in June 2006 and mostly practices mindfulness meditation and Buddhism. In that role, she recently served as executive director of the Insight Meditation Community of Washington, DC.〔 She received her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Howard University and a Master of Science in Administration from Trinity College in Washington D.C.〔
